Youth exchange: Off the Wall 1

Young people from Flanders, the Netherlands and France collaborated with theater maker Pascal Buyse in Off the Wall, a project about borders, war and peace, the Atlantic Wall and displacement.

The young people visited Atlantic Wall Raversyde, the art manifestation UNSETTLED and the prisoner of war camp Vloethemveld. Their ideas and experiences were translated into an artistic performance captured by filmmakers Toyah Van der Poten and Yel Ratajczak. Their starting point was the social environment of the young people, which raises questions such as: Which limits are justified? What do you have to (dare) do to break through boundaries? In which situations do you have to set limits for yourself? But also: how does it feel to be constantly on the go? The premiere of the documentary Off the Wall, which was the result of the project, was in Atlantikwall Raversyde for students and teachers from the Belgian schools De Bron (Tielt) and De Studio (Oostende).

Off the Wall 1 was organized by Atlantikwall Raveryde, in collaboration with the AWE partners Flemish Land Agency, European Heritage Atlantic Foundation (Netherlands), La Fabrique de Patrimoines en Normandie (France) and Kunstencentrum KAAP (Ostend).
